Tips on Selecting a Rental Company

Equipment Availability: this is the most important thing to look for when renting computer equipment. If you're in need of a notebook, LCD display and external hard drive, you need to make sure all those things are available from a single company. Dealing with one company is much easier than dealing with two or three.

Price: most companies price rental equipment at 5 to 10% of the current manufacturer list price, usually with a one month minimum rental period. Although this is the average, some companies are more flexible in price and rental terms, especially if they have overstocked inventories.

Technical Support: problems with technology seem to rise at the worst times. You want to make sure that if there's a problem such as lack of familiarity or faulty equipment someone will be available to help you. Find out if technical support is onsite, by phone or by e-mail. In the event of an equipment failure find out what their repair or replacement policy is, and if the company isn't local who has to pay for shipping.

t Delivery: delivery options vary greatly upon whether the rental company is local or not. If their stock is kept locally, do you have to pick it up or does the company deliver it to you? If your equipment is being shipped, do you have to pay the cost, what method will be used, and will it reach you on time? Also, consider insurance cost when having your equipment shipped to you.
